California Proposition 65 information

The California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65, is to inform people in California that they may be exposed to trace amounts of certain chemicals in the products they use or consume. Proposition 65 requires manufacturers to apply a warning statement to their products if exposure levels exceed established maximum levels. Because the maximum levels of exposure that California allows are typically set extremely low in California, a wide range of products are required to carry a warning. These products include food, household goods, building products, cosmetics and more. By requiring this information, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals.*

In order to comply with Proposition 65 Viega LLC is incorporating warnings on the labels of the packaging on Viega products affected by this regulation. Even though some Viega products may contain trace amounts of chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, all Viega products meet or exceed industry standards in both the U.S. and Canada. We are confident that our products do not pose a health hazard.

Products that require a warning include the following statement:

WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including [name of one or more chemicals], which is [are] known to the State of California to cause cancer (and/or) birth defects or other reproductive harm.

ADVERTENCIA: Este producto puede exponerle a químicos incluyendo [name of one or more chemicals], que es (son) conocido (s) por el Estado de California como causante (s) de cáncer y defectos de nacimiento u otros daños reproductivos.

AVERTISSEMENT: Ce produit peut vous exposer à des agents chimiques, y compris [name of one or more chemicals], identifiés par l'État de Californie comme pouvant causer le cancer et des malformations congénitales ou autres effets nocifs sur la reproduction.
